Martin Buser, MPH, FACHE
Co-Founder & Partner
Martin B. Buser, MPH, FACHE, a founding partner of HMR, was Executive Vice President, Health Services, Scripps Health, responsible for the operation’s ambulatory, six acute, two sub-acute, skilled nursing, home health and related healthcare services for 19 years prior to forming HMR. Mr. Buser received his Bachelor’s degree, cum laude, in economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and completed a Master’s degree in public health with an emphasis in hospital administration, from the University of California, Los Angeles. He has served on the Scripps/UCSD Whittier Institute of Diabetes Board of Directors, Past Chairman of the Board of the American Heart Association, Greater San Diego Division and the Western States American Heart Association, and is a fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives.
Martin Buser has served as a member of the California Healthcare Association Executive Committee and Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Hospital Council for San Diego and Imperial Counties Board of Directors, Chairman of the California Hospitals PAC Board, on the consultant faculty of the San Diego State University Graduate School of Public Health, and on the Board of the La Jolla YMCA. Additionally, he was named a national “Emerging Leader” by Hospital Forum magazine and Jaycee of the Year by the Glendale Jaycees. He is a frequent speaker at state Hospital Associations, VHA, Governance Institute, Advisory Board, Society for Hospital Medicine and other national conferences. He is on the editorial board of Today’s Hospitalist magazine and is frequently sought out for his expertise.
Roger A. Heroux, MHA, PhD, FACHE
Co-Founder & Partner
Roger A. Heroux, MHA, PhD, FACHE, is also a founding partner of HMR. Prior to forming HMR, Dr. Heroux was Sr. VP of Business Development for Cove Healthcare and Spectrum Healthcare Services. He was co-founder of Correctional Medical Systems, the nation’s largest healthcare provider to prisons and jails and was also co-founder and Sr. VP of Business Development/Mergers & Acquisitions, Spectrum Partnerships/Primary Care Services. He also served as Chairman of the Cost Containment Task Force for the American College of Emergency Physicians and was Chief Operating Officer of St. Joseph’s Medical Center, St. Louis Missouri.
Dr. Heroux received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Economics from Providence College, Rhode Island, and completed his Master’s Degree and PhD in Hospital and Healthcare Administration from St. Louis University, Missouri.
